Crooked Still live at Falcon Ridge July 24,2008
Crooked Still Live at FalconRidge. Mud wrestling et al.
This show brought everything full circle for me.
Two years ago my wife Gini dragged my boys to a show at some church in West Watley,Massachussetts for watermelon Wednesday. This involved music, set break with watermelon and dusk viewing of hundreds/tousands of bats swooping from the church and then some more music.
The music turned out to be Crooked Still and my older son Gabe was hooked. He listened incessantly to their cd's for a year. I was not as smitten until I found a show on etree and then eventually every show ever posted on etree. Not only are these guys great musically but every show is fun in a unique way. Gabe was attracted in part because he is a cellist and after seing Rushad,he wants to start his own bluegrass band. After listening to several Still shows from Greyfox I googled Greyfox and realized that I could take the boys this summer. We are already planning on returning next year and are all avid bluegrass fans, thanks to some bats and Crooked Still(and we were fortunate to catch them in Berkeley and at Falcon Ridge).
